Audience and purpose

Our editorial content is written primarily for homeowners, designers, and renovators considering residential tile work in Waterloo Region and nearby communities. Its purpose is to make material selection, preparation, waterproofing, sequencing, maintenance, and quote conversations easier to understand.

We aim to answer the reader's question before promoting a service. We separate general education from project-specific advice and avoid presenting preferences, examples, or rough ranges as universal rules.

Research and source hierarchy

The best source depends on the claim. We prioritize sources that are current, primary, and specific to the product, system, jurisdiction, or installation detail being discussed. Our usual order is:

1. Controlling, product-specific information: current Canadian manufacturer instructions, technical data, system manuals, safety information, and applicable code or regulator requirements.
2. Primary technical authorities: recognized standards organizations, safety authorities, government publications, and established tile-industry bodies.
3. First-hand trade context:Moonka's practical observations, clearly framed as experience rather than a substitute for a specification or standard.
4. Supporting context: reputable trade, design, and consumer publications used for background, terminology, or trend context rather than as the sole basis for a technical claim.

When an article includes sources, we aim to link the source closest to the relevant claim and state what it supports. A citation for one point is not treated as proof of every other statement on the page.

Precise claims and product instructions

Numbers and technical statements need appropriately precise support. Cure times, coverage requirements, material classifications, movement provisions, electrical rules, and product-use limits should be tied to the authority that actually governs that detail. When conditions or products can change the answer, we say so instead of offering false precision.

Planning, review, and date changes

Aggregate Google Search Console data may help us see which tile questions readers are asking, where an existing page is unclear, or which topic may need a refresh. It can inform topic selection, FAQ coverage, and review priorities. It does not determine whether a technical claim is true; that still requires appropriate source support.

A page's published date represents its original publication. We change an "updated" date only after a material revision, such as changing factual guidance, a core recommendation, the scope of the article, or an important supporting source. Spelling, formatting, layout, and routine link maintenance do not by themselves justify a new date.

Images and visual transparency

Blog articles may include Moonka project photography, licensed stock photography, original editorial diagrams, and AI-assisted editorial illustrations. Within our editorial content, stock and illustrative images explain a material, room type, design direction, installation assembly, or planning topic; they are not presented as proof that Moonka completed the pictured project. Only imagery explicitly identified as Moonka project work should be understood that way.

We use images we own, license, or otherwise have permission to publish. Photographer and platform credits are included when required or supplied. Original diagrams are labelled as generic when they are not product specifications, and AI-assisted illustrations are disclosed in their captions. Source and provenance details are retained so an image's origin and usage basis can be checked.

AI-assisted tools

AI tools may assist with research discovery, organizing notes, grouping reader questions, outlining, consistency checks, or copy editing. Their output is not treated as a source or accepted as accurate simply because it is fluent.

Moonka Tiles Co. remains responsible for selecting sources, checking material claims, revising the content, approving the final page, and deciding whether it should be published. The use of an assistive tool does not transfer that publication responsibility.

Corrections and contact

If you notice a factual error, outdated source, unclear image attribution, or wording that could mislead a reader, email us at moonkatilesco@gmail.com. Including the page URL, the statement in question, and a relevant source helps us review the issue.

We review correction requests and update confirmed errors as promptly as practical. A correction that materially changes the guidance will also change the page's updated date; a minor copy or formatting fix may not.

Limits of online guidance

Website content is general education, not a project specification, inspection, engineering opinion, code ruling, warranty, or final quote. Photos and written descriptions cannot establish every condition hidden behind tile, walls, or floors.

Substrate condition, moisture, movement, drainage, structure, electrical or plumbing work, access, existing damage, and the selected products may all change the correct approach. A project-specific recommendation may require an on-site assessment, current product documentation, and input from the appropriate installer, manufacturer, licensed trade, authority, or other qualified professional.
